The Galaxy Note III launch was expected to take place at the 2013 IFA expo, which runs September 6th through 11th in Berlin, but according to an industry insider the phablet will arrive a few days early at a special Samsung event. Android Geeks reports that “someone close to the matter” has revealed that the Note III will be unveiled at a Samsung Unpacked press event that will take place in Berlin on September 4.
The latest Galaxy Note III release date rumors line up perfectly with the precedent set by Samsung, so don’t be surprised if they turn out to be true. The original Galaxy Note was introduced at the debut of the IFA 2011 expo, and the Note II was announced one year later, just a few days before IFA 2012 kicked off. At this point, Samsung appears committed to launching its devices at stand-alone events, so it’s no surprise that the Note III won’t debut as part of the Berlin expo.
Based on leaked images and specs, Samsung’s third-generation phablet will feature a 5.7-inch display (0.2-inches bigger than the Note II) with a 1080p resolution. The handset will likely also sport Qualcomm’s new blazing fast Snapdragon 800 processor.
