Samsung Galaxy Note Edge-26

After touching down in the U.S. in recent weeks, Samsung's new Galaxy Note Edge is heading north. Both Bell and Rogers will be offering the curved device on contract, while Best Buy Canada has already begun taking pre-orders.

The Galaxy Note Edge is arguably Samsung's most exciting smartphone in years. It combines most of the Galaxy Note 4's cutting-edge specifications with a unique and attractive design that has a curved glass display on one side.

Beneath that 5.6-inch Quad HD display lies a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization.

The Note Edge also has a 3,000mAh battery — slightly smaller than the Note 4's — and a microSD card slot. It ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed and the latest TouchWiz user interface, but because it's a flagship handset, it'll be one of the first in line for Samsung's Lollipop upgrades.

Canada's carriers haven't announced a release date or pricing for the handset just yet — though we expect it to cost more than the regular Note 4 as is the case in other markets — but Best Buy tells us it is "coming soon."

You can pre-order the device now on either Bell or Rogers, and if you do so in-store, you'll save 20% on mobile accessories.
