The Galaxy Note 9 will be announced on Thursday, August 9.

Samsung released the first teaser for its second 2018 flagship while sending out invites to media outlets. The teaser, which is a video, shows various up-close shots of the S Pen. Since the Galaxy Note series’ debut in 2011, Samsung’s used the built-in stylus as a key selling point.

With the teaser showing only the S Pen, Samsung might be improving productivity. That’s what the series was created for anyway. The S Pen was once a big deal, but it’s since turned out to be a less important feature. Perhaps the Galaxy Note 9 will bring the series back to its roots.

Samsung isn’t going light on this product’s launch despite the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy X expected to arrive early on in 2019. The Galaxy Note 9 will be revealed at the Barclays Center in New York City, an arena capable of holding around 17,000 people. So it’ll be one of the largest venues Samsung has ever hosted an event at.

Those who won’t be in attendance can watch the unveiling on YouTube. Samsung will offer a live-stream to show the Galaxy Note 9 in front of the world.

From the invitation, we can tell you the event and its live-stream will begin at 11:00AM ET.
