According to Galaxy Club, Samsung has started testing a variant of the Galaxy Note 8 running Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which could be the version of the operating system that ships on board the handset when it's released.

The report also said there is reason to believe that the Galaxy Note 8 has the same aspect ratio (18.5:9) as the Galaxy S8, suggesting it will sport a similar edge-to-edge Infinity Display, potentially with an integrated fingerprint scanner.

A dual camera setup, an Exynos processor and more

On the topic of specifications, reliable KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted that the Galaxy Note 8 will pack a dual camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel wide-angle CIS and 13-megapixel telephoto CIS.

Other notable purported specifications include an Exynos series (8895) processor, 6GB of RAM and iris recognition. Who knows? Maybe Samsung's also perfected the sizeable 3,500mAh battery that led to the Galaxy Note 7's unfortunate demise.

We'll have to wait and see.
