Samsung typically unveils its new Galaxy Note products during the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. That occurs in early September this year, but, rumor has it, Samsung may launch the Galaxy Note 7 (or Galaxy Note 7 Edge) a full month earlier than that.

Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, recently tweeted that we’re almost exactly two months away from the Galaxy Note 7 launch event, suggesting that Samsung’s plan is to host something in very early August. That could be a good way for the company to get its flagship out earlier than Apple’s, which is expected in September.

Dates can always shuffle, but it wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has moved a launch event forward in order to beat a competitor to the market.
