Next Tuesday's gonna be a big one for Big Red, and it sounds like folks within Verizon Wireless' corporate circles are just as excited about it as all you Android Army folks. You already know what's coming: the Droid RAZR in NYC by day, and the Galaxy Nexus in Hong Kong by night (Wed. morning, HK Time). Now you know just a little bit more about when you can expect at least one of the devices to actually hit retail outlets.

Galaxy Nexus popped up in a VZW internal database today, or so says a leaker who sent a screengrab to the kids at Droid-Life. The photo is said to be of a Verizon inventory system, and assuming it's legit, it confirms two things about the phone and sheds light on something new, as well. First, the new Nexus phone will in fact be called the "Samsung Galaxy Nexus," and not the much cooler sounding, "Droid Prime." Second, it'll support 4G LTE, as expected. Third is the new bit: Galaxy Nexus won't be a global phone. While this may disappoint the jetsetting DroidHeads out there, don't despair too much, as a GSM variant of the device likely headed to AT&T has already cleared the FCC.

Meantime, Phandroid says they've got an insider who's pegged November 3rd as the official release date for Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. Coupled with that Droid RAZR launching in New York next week, Big Red's got themselves quite the power couple for the holiday season:

The idea I'm getting from official testers is that the screen and user experience is much better in the Nexus device, and the overall advantage is the presence of Ice Cream Sandwich (I've personally noted this to be true). But I've also been told by those who have tested it that the RAZR is very fast, smooth, and has a great battery life. The screen, although not quite up to Nexus, is a big improvement over the Bionic for those who didn't like it. Verizon is very, very excited for both devices. I don't get the feeling they're "siding" with one over the other, but I can tell you that they never had a lot of confidence in the Bionic having a lot of staying power.
