Samsung just announced its budget-friendly Galaxy J2 last month, but it looks like the company is already be prepping a follow-up smartphone. A pair of new benchmarks suggest the Galaxy J3 is just around the corner with a few solid upgrades.
The Galaxy J3 appears to offer a 5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, along with 8-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing cameras both capable of shooting at 1080p resolution. That’s a nice step up from the J2, which offered a smaller screen with a lower resolution, a slower processor, and a measly 5-megapixel 720p camera. The Galaxy J2 costs around $125, so hopefully Samsung can keep the price almost as low for this new model.
Samsung also revealed two slightly more powerful J-branded smartphones earlier this year. The Galaxy J5 and J7 pack mid-range specs and offer front-facing flash modules. It’s possible the J3 could include that same unique feature, though it seems more likely the new phone will stick to the basics.
