Half-Life 3

President and co-founder of Valve, Gabe Newell, is scheduled to do a Reddit AMA today at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. He is prepared to take a range of questions for the community, but naturally, there is only one question that will be on everyone's mind.

"Where the heck is Left 4 Dead 3?" Come on, it's been, like, eight years since the last one. We haven't waited that long for any other major PC gaming franchise.

Oh, except for that other one that Valve made

No doubt, Newell is prepared to take questions about Half-Life 3. Whether he answers them or not is entirely up to him. My guess is that either he has explanations as to why the game never came out, or he has nothing that we haven't heard over the last decade and would rather focus on Steam or Valve's other games.

Chances are that he doesn't have anything new to announce in that regard. Half-Life 3 isn't going to magically appear anytime soon, especially during a Reddit AMA.

He can explain the situation all he wants, but the one thing I hope he doesn't do is tease us. After leaving us hanging with the cliffhanger endings to end all cliffhangers at the end of Half-Life 2: Episode 2, fans have put up with enough silence and spinning. Either confirm the game or give a solid reason why it's never happening.

I swear, if I hear anything to the tune of "just wait and see," I am going to snap, and I'm not even that big of a Half-Life fan.
