Michael Coombes and James Atkins, formerly of HTC U.K., have just revealed the first wave of devices in their new phone line under the Kazam brand name. A total of seven new models were unveiled and the U.K.-based phone maker is hoping to release the devices in Europe soon.

The firm’s seven phones are split among two tiers. Two high-end smartphones exist under the “Thunder” brand name, while five lower-tier devices fit in the “Trooper” family of devices, all of which run stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The Thunder Q4.5 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and is equipped with 1GB of RAM and, as its name implies, a 4.5-inch screen. Unfortunately, however, the display has a relatively low 854 x 480-pixel resolution, which is no match for the 1080p screens on flagship smartphones today. Kazam’s lower lower-end models include the Trooper X3.5, the Trooper X4.0, the Trooper X4.5, the Trooper X5.0 and the Trooper X5.5. The Trooper range has lower-end specs, though screens range from 3.5-inches all the way up to 5.5-inches, which means there’s a size for everyone.

We don’t yet know what the Thunder Q5.0 offers, aside from a 5-inch display, though we sort of hope as the company’s flagship phone that it offers the better specs. Judging by the Thunder Q4.5 specs, however, we have a feeling it’s relatively similar just with a slightly larger screen.

Kazam hasn’t set any release date expectations or prices just yet.
