Intel Santa ClaraAnd the first carrier to offer Intel’s Medfield-powered Android phone in Europe is… Orange U.K. Take a bow. Codenamed Santa Clara – apparently Orange wants its name a secret until launch – the device sports a 4-inch (1024 x 600) display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video and a burst mode for capturing up to 10 shots a second, perfect for fast action.

The device’s Atom Z2460 processor – similar to what we saw back at CES – will be clocked at 1.6GHz , making it more than capable of handling the burden of Gingerbread (Ice Cream Sandwich was promised soon after launch). In addition, the device will support fast HSPA+ speeds, HDMI-out and NFC.

No word on pricing, but availability should be sometime during summer, so expect to see a lot more about this device before it officially hits the streets.
