Final Fantasy XIV Online is already one of the most beautiful and interesting video games on the market, and its latest expansion is making all the right moves to continue this upward climb for years to come.
A string of announcements made at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Frankfurt, Germany, over the weekend show that Square Enix has no problem reveling in its past when looking for inspiration. More specifically, Blitzball is coming back! The popular mini-game from Final Fantasy X is sure to be a welcome addition to the online MMORPG. There are already plenty of adventures and mini-games to be had, but Blitzball is in a league of its own.
Square Enix also revealed an extended version of the expansion's opening movie and the new samurai job class at the same time.
And likewise, a PlayStation 4 Pro patch is also in the works, and it will help the game reach its maximum potential performance. Finally, Square Enix provided a new key art from artist Akihiko Yoshida and list of updates:
New Job
The Samurai joins the previously announced Red Mage as a new DPS (Damage Per Second) job. The Katana-wielding samurai will use STR gear/
New Player Hub
The port town of Kugane is the new player hub for Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.
New Beast Tribe
The Kojin is a new Beast Tribe in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. The Kojin is commonly found on and near the Ruby Sea, and consist of skilled traders who welcome dealings with other races.
New Primal
Lord of the Revel – Susano is a new Primal in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.
New Dungeons
New dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood include Yanxia and The Azim Steppe.
New Residential Area
Shirogane is the new residential area in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. It features eastern-style housing and neighborhoods.

Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG designed to appeal to all gamers, whether you like being social and part of huge groups or you prefer to handle dungeons solo.
