During its Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event last night, Square Enix finally got around to announcing a release date for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. The HD remaster of the PlayStation 2 classic will be released in North America and Europe on July 11.

Japan will be getting its own version two days later on July 13.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is currently only in development for the PlayStation 4. Don’t expect that to last very long if it follows in the footsteps of Final Fantasy X’s monstrously successful remaster, which also came to the PC and PS Vita.

The announcement also came with gorgeous new key art from Final Fantasy XII’s legendary artist, Akihiko Yoshida.

Final Fantasy XII demands a good chunk of your time

Final Fantasy XII is a massive game with a huge world to explore and expansive dungeons. Plus, it also requires a huge amount of grinding and problem-solving to conquer the ultimate bosses that scatter the lands. If you’re up for it, this will make a perfect summer game to help pass the slowest time of the year.
