Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Agito+ will be coming to the PS Vita in Japan this coming January 2015.

Most Final Fantasy fans are pretty excited that Final Fantasy Type-0 is finally getting an American localization in full blown HD on modern consoles no less. They should be too, because it's a downright fun game if the Tokyo Game Show 2014 demo is to be believed. However, one group of fans is not happy about the localization at all, PS Vita owners.

Quite a few owners of the Sony handheld gaming device are upset because they feel that the game, which started life as a PSP game, should have been directly ported to a newer handheld device as well. After all, the game was designed to be played on the move, and that is where it is best suited, correct?

Well, probably, but it's not going to happen. Instead, Square Enix is porting its companion mobile game, the free to play Final Fantasy Agito+. While not nearly as often requested as Type-0, Agito+ has a pretty big following on the mobile market with its excellent graphics and slick mission based level structure. Unlike Type-0 , which locks you into pre-designed protagonists, Agito+ gives you the opportunity to make your own.

I'm not entirely sure if this will satisfy disgruntled Vita owners, but it's better than nothing. We'll keep an eye out for a localization in America.
