“Extremely proud of all we achieved on Far Cry and Assassins but very excited to build something new,” he said.

“Myself, [Reid Schneider, formerly of Warner Bros.], and some other wonderful people have founded a brand new company: Typhoon Studios,” he continued.

Hutchinson has worked on games such as Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 4, and Army of Two: The 40th Day, the latter of which he worked with Schneider on previously.

Radio silence expected

As with any studio just starting out, we can likely expect some long silence before we hear anything. Hutchinson said on Twitter that the team is “hard at work imagining a brand-new world to inflict” on us, but that first they have to “hire, build our studio, buy a coffee machine, and build Ikea furniture.”

The speed with which creator Hideo Kojima had a new studio and a game teaser after being ousted from his previous one is all but unprecedented, and I’d expect Hutchinson will be at work a bit longer before we hear anything.
