Warning: If you're at your desk at work or in a place that might not take kindly to killing and strong language, we suggest you save this trailer for later viewing. No, it's not that bad, but we know we'd rather have the warning beforehand than afterwards.

Aside from the big action, lush terrain, unique characters and seemingly intense gameplay, it looks like Far Cry 3 will feature violence that can only be described as over-the-top. So much so, in fact, that the trailer above uses that rough level of violence and gore to force a thematic necessity for drugs.

Or, at least, that's what I picked up from the talk with the island's bizarre doctor, the panning shots of weird cave mushrooms and the strange shots of first person hallucinations. Far Cry 2 toyed with malaria and its side effects, for those that remember; I wonder if Far Cry 3 will place as strong a demand on drugs as before.

Far Cry 3 is currently slated to launch for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms on September 4th, 2012 in North America. The game will see retail in Europe on September 6th.

As more details come, including story news and in-game assets, we'll make sure to run it.
