Fans of Dogmeat from the Fallout games will be happy to know that his Fallout 4 incarnation is an immortal being. No more puppy guarding him like what was required in the harshest firefights of Fallout 3. This dog can not and will not be killed in battle, granting relief to dog lovers and RPG completionists everywhere.

I know a certain Editor-In-Chief who will be very happy with this news. (I am! – Sean, Editor-in-Chief) Bethesda confirmed the reveal on its Twitter page.

Thank goodness too. Reviving Dogmeat was always such a pain in Fallout 3 whether it meant loading your game or seeking one of his spawn on the Capital Wasteland. Just one of the many improvements I hope to see in Fallout 4.

The game will be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Nov. 10.
