We don’t have an official release date for Fallout 4 just yet, but several major retailers are claiming that it will be available before the year is out. These retailers lined the game up on their sites shortly after its reveal yesterday and slapped it with a Dec. 31, 2015 date.

Of course, the game won’t come out on New Year’s Eve. This is just a placeholder date used for any game that will be released before the year’ end, and Amazon, GMG, GameStop, and even Bethesda’s own official store all believe that this is the case.

Bethesda has since updated its “TBA 2015” release status to just “TBA,” but not before it entered the Internet’s infinite memory.

In addition to the news, two more screenshots have surfaced showing off the vault door and a couple of power armor dudes scouting the area. Drool away!

I’m about as thrilled as thrilled can be. Fallout 3 is one of my all-time favorite games, and despite my recent irksome relationship with Western RPGs, I’m still going to sink myself into this one. I have a bit of a problem with the rumored talking protagonist and heavier focus on story, but I have faith that Bethesda can pull through. Generic cinematic cutscenes just seem wrong in a Bethesda game.

Bethesda will have more information on Fallout 4 during its E3 presentation on June 14. Be sure to tune in then. It will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
