Facebook is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to respond to posts with photos. That means if your friend posts a comment about being a huge Miami Heat fan you can drop in a photo of the Spurs, or vice versa.

The new feature was introduced by Facebook’s Bob Baldwin, who said that he hopes it will make “threads with friends more expressive and engaging.” The feature was built by Baldwin and his co-workers during a Facebook hackathon and it appears to be live now, at least on our own account. In addition to leaving a comment, users can simply tap the camera icon on the far right of the comment box to attach a photo.

You’ll need to save the image locally first, however, as it appears that Facebook won’t allow you to embed links to photos that exist on the Internet. We hope Facebook considers adding the feature to its mobile apps soon, too.
