Facebook officially released Facebook Messenger for iPad on Thursday, finally bringing its popular chat client to Apple’s larger-screened devices. The application is a totally different version of the app available for the iPhone, and allows you to view all of your contacts on a sidebar while also participating in conversations.

As usual, you’ll still be able to add media to your chats, like Facebook’s popular stickers, and you’ll also be able to place free calls to other Facebook users all over the world. In version 7.0, Facebook said that the calls should be “more reliable” and that it also fixed an issue that was preventing active Facebook users from showing up as quickly as possible.

We’ll definitely be giving Facebook Messenger for the iPad a whirl – the chat client is really solid on Android and the iPhone, and we hope the experience is just as good in tablet form. Hit the source for a link to download it yourself now.
