EA’s Rory McIlroy PGA Tour jumped out of the gate with pretty sparse offerings – check out our review to see what it looked like at launch – but it’s slowly getting more robust. EA announced this week that they’ll add four more courses and modes of play to the game by the time grass is growing and clubs are coming out of hiding.

In addition to the two courses added shortly after launch, PGA Tour will be getting three real world courses and one fantasy course, bringing the total course list up to 18; 13 real world courses, and five fantasy.

The real-world locations include Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC, TPC Stadium at PGA West in La Quinta, CA, and Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh. The fantasy course is called Treasure Island.

Two golfers, Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson, will join the roster of available pros, and the four play modes are Skins, Four Ball, Alternate Shot and Best Ball. These courses and modes are set to hit by the end of March, but no word other than that about possible release dates.

This kind of make-good DLC is an unfortunate necessity for games like this one and Forza Motorsport 5 which end up with less content than their predecessors thanks to the developer having to go through the time-consuming process of rebuilding previously made courses from scratch to work (and look good) in a new engine, but it should help satisfy fans left feeling a bit cold by the initial release.
