We've seen what the power of the PlayStation 4 is capable and the amazing graphics that it can pump out with top of the line games. We've seen how small indie games look gorgeous and run flawlessly on the console's tech. Now all that remains is how well it can handle a budget title designed to look bad.
Well, there is really only one series we can turn to for a genuine answer to that question. Sandlot and D3 Publishers aren't about to let anybody steal their thunder and have announced that a new game in their cult favorite Earth Defense Force franchise will be making its way to the next-gen console.
With all we've seen come from the PlayStation 4 demos and graphic reels, can you imagine the giant ants of Earth Defense Force 2017 still being rendered on the most powerful gaming device known to mankind? The mockery these two companies create in the face of new technology is a never ending stream of hilarity.
And as always, in the end, it doesn't matter how well Sandlot utilizes the power of the PlayStation 4. If I am still blowing away massive ants at a reduced price, sign me up every time.
D3 Publishers would also like to remind you that Earth Defense Force 2025 is still set for launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Feb. 4, 2014.
