As the trailer above indicates, Dungeon Defenders has a brand new batch of DLC for purchase and download. Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards Part II: Moraggo has been released, and, as a way to advertise the game while welcoming brand new players, Trendy Entertainment has gone and made Dungeon Defenders free to play on Steam this weekend.

It's a great title that's worth your time if you have it to spare this weekend. The learning curve is initially a little steep, but once you get past that point and are introduced to the game's mechanics, you'll more than likely have a blast playing for hours on end.

Here's a fair warning: if you decide to settle down and give Dungeon Defenders a fair shake over the course of this free-to-play weekend, we're willing to bet that you'll become slightly addicted. So much so, in fact, that you'll want to pony up the cash and snag it for good once the free trial period is over. You're out $15 come Monday, right?

Here's the good news: if you fall in love with this indie RPG/tower defense hybrid, you'll be able to snag it for 50% off of its normal price until the end of the day on Monday. That means you'll be able to score this well valued title for $7.49. You can buy it now for the same price, if you choose to ignore the free weekend of play completely.

Dungeon Defenders was originally on Steam only for the PC platform. However, alongside this free weekend, the game was also released for the Mac OS. If you want to take advantage of the free-play period, head to the Steam page for the game, scroll down and click the banner in the middle of the page that's marked "Free Weekend." That will launch your Steam client and start the game's download.
