Triple trailer dump from Capcom’s Dragon Dogma Online this week! Its fantasy RPG has been hitting all the right notes with its gameplay footage and monster design, but this trio of trailers introduces more elements beyond the battles at hand.

Out first is the game’s intro. Dragon’s Dogma Online has only been confirmed for a Japanese release so far, hence why it is in Japanese. The mysterious visuals don’t help too much until the very end, but they are beautiful none-the-less. Two dragons battle it out, and one falls into the realm of humans. He uses his dying breath to touch the hearts of those who stumble upon him, but he is mysterious about his purpose.

Our second trailer is pretty straight forward. These are the orcs of Dragon’s Dogma Online’s world, and they are not to be underestimated. Each stands at least 10 feet tall, and they can crush a man under their gigantic feet. Remember in Lord of the Rings when the armies or Sauron towered over the feeble men on Minis Tirith? Yeah, it’s something like that.

And last is the most important element of Dragon’s Dogma that sets it apart from other RPG franchises, the pawns. Just like in the first game, you’ll be able to create your own personal pawn who will charge into battle with you. It will follow your every command and hopefully complement the character class you’ve chosen. When you are not playing the game, others will be able to rent out your pawn, and they will use him on missions, leveling him up and sharing loot. Beneficial for everyone!

Dragon’s Dogma Online will release in Japan for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2015, most likely before we ever see deep down again. No word on a localization yet, but the first one was such a surprise hit in the West that I can’t see Capcom saying no. A successful free-to-play MMORPG might be just what it needs to stabilize itself during its reforms.
