It's been a while since we heard from this year's most successful sleeper hit, Dragon's Dogma, but Capcom said they would have something at TGS this year. Between those one million worldwide units Dragon's Dogma shipped and the 290% jump in profits over last year, Capcom decided to announce future sequels and DLC packages, and now we are finally getting a look at where this franchise is going.

A trailer from the first DLC expansion has made its way to the internet from TGS. Not much more than a teaser, though; the Arisen and his pawns crash their way through pathetic skeleton warriors before coming face to face with a horrendous black dragon lord.

It's hard to say exactly what to expect beyond another dungeon and another quest with the little that is shown. The title implies some kind of evil shift in the game's nameless protagonist, or perhaps even a new rival Arisen will rise to challenge our hero. Ugh, this speculation is so much more fun with Metal Gear Solid.

At any rate, Dragon's Dogma is a pretty sweet game with plenty of room to improve and expand upon its foundations. Maybe this "major expansion," as Capcom is putting it, will move to do just that.

Hard Mode and Speed Runs will also be available for you crazy masochist gamers out there in a free update before the end of the year.

Dragon's Dogma is available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and Dark Arisen should be available some time next year. More to come when we have it.
