Dragon Ball Xenoverse is looking more and more like the closest representation of the popular anime that video gaming has ever seen. The graphics are phenomenal, and the power of modern day consoles can finally put the horse power behind the action to capture the speed of the show.

The latest bit of footage shows off recreated battles from three different story arcs of the show. The first is Super Saiyan Level 3 Goku bringing the pain to Majin Buu, followed by a powered-up Trunks fighting Krillin’s future bride, Android 18. We close out with a rather unpopular outcome as the widely loathed Nappa gets the better of everyone’s favorite green-man fighter, Piccolo.

Remember way back when Nappa was a threat? Dragon Ball Xenoverse’s time-bending storyline allows our heroes to relive that first battle of desperation in a whole new light.

I’ve gone hands-on with Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and from what I’ve seen so far, it is exactly what you are looking for in a licensed product. You won’t find a deep, tactical fighter in this package similar to Street Fighter IV, but you will find plenty of fan-service, a lot of fun, and a deep character creator which will allow you to finally feel part of the Dragon Ball universe.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be released for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on Feb. 24.
