The tiny and wonderful Downwell has been announced for the PlayStation platforms. Downwell is now bound for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

Say it with me now: “YEEEESSSSSSSSSSS.” Alright, glad that’s out of my system.

Downwell was announced for the PS4 and PS Vita by the Japanese PlayStation Blog. The bad news is that we don’t have a Western confirmation just yet. The game is coming to the PlayStation platforms in Japan in 2016. I imagine the Western world will see it shortly after that launch, simply because the title doesn’t need much in the way of translation for localization.

I’ve been in love with Downwell ever since playing it at PAX East a year ago. It released late last year, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

I can’t wait to play it on my PS Vita. It’s great on PC with tactile controls, but the virtual buttons on my Android device simply don’t live up. On the PS Vita, this game should be wonderful.
