We have some solid news from the halls of Bethesda this morning as it relates to the upcoming DOOM. First and foremost, the game will feature an open beta on all platforms. And by “open,” we mean truly open. No codes, no requirements, just the platform of choice and DOOM.

The open beta will run from April 15-17.

DOOM itself will launch on May 13, 2016, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will supposedly offer a wealth of content at launch, but Bethesda announced this morning that some DLC will bring in even more stuff. Here’s what they described as it relates to the first batch of post-launch content and its pricing.

The first DLC will be available this summer and give you access to:

  • Three new maps
  • One new weapon
  • One new playable demon
  • One new armor set
  • One new piece of equipment
  • New hack modules and taunts
  • New customization colors and patterns

Each DLC pack will cost $14.99, or you can get them all at a discount with the Season Pass for $39.99. Check your preferred retailer to pre-order the DOOM Season Pass.

We’ll have more concerning DOOM as it comes. Who’s excited to go to hell?
