Disney and Pixar have announced the new actors playing major roles in the upcoming Incredibles 2. Most of the original cast is returning for the sequel, but some Hollywood heavyweights were brought in to play major roles.

The announcement was made through the Incredibles’ Facebook page, along with a side by side image of each actor and a canvass painting of the character they are playing. The artsy painting was no doubt a tongue-in-cheek reference to Google Arts and Culture selfie phenomenon that took over the nation last week.

In the gallery, present are Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson), Mrs. Incredible (Holly Hunter) and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) as well as the new cast. Let’s breakdown the image and the information we know of the characters.

  • Bob Odenkirk as Winston Deavor: Funnyman Bob Odenkirk is is playing Winston Deavor, slick telecommunications tycoon who is a big fan of the Supers. He will play a big role in bringing the Supers back and changing the public perception of them.
  • Catherine Keener as Evelyn Deavor: Keener will portray Evelyn Deavor, Winston’s sister and business partner. She is described as having a knack for tech and the reason the Deavor’s company is so successful.
  • Sophia Bush as Voyd: Bush will play a young Super called Voyd who is a big fan of Elastigirl. She can control objects around her, moving them around and creating voids making them disappear and re-appear.
  • Isabella Rossellini as Ambassador: The only thing we know of Rossellini’s character is that she referred to as Ambassador and is also in favor of the return of the Supers.

The description of each character is very vague and doesn’t really offer much in detail. So, too, are the images, with only Voyd’s image showing her off in a bright green suit while she wears her blue hair in a ponytail. It would stand that one of these characters will play the role of the villain. Judging by the description, our money is on Evelyn Deavor, who seems to be the best suited to have an ulterior motive.

We won’t count out Voyd either if writers opted to recycle the Syndrome storyline for the sequel.

Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15, 2018.
