Kingdoms of Amalur

EA doesn't break from its trends very often, but when it does, against people's misconceptions, it can step up and deliver some wonderful games. It you need to be reminded of that, then maybe you should jump on over to the PlayStation Store where some of EA's best and brightest PlayStation 3 games are on sale for some of the lowest prices I've ever seen.

What exactly do we have? Here are the highlights:

  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – $2.99
  • Burnout Paradise Ultimate Edition – 4.49
  • Crysis – $2.99
  • Crysis 2 Maximum Edition – $4.49
  • Dead Space – $2.99
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – $2.99
  • Mass Effect – $4.49
  • Mass Effect 2 Ultimate Edition – $10.49
  • Mass Effect 3 – $3.99
  • Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Ultimate Edition – $7.49
  • SSX – $2.99

Of course, the best game on this list, Mass Effect 2, just happens to be the most expensive, however that is because this version comes with all of its DLC. Mass Effect 3's DLC can be purchased separately for a discounted price as well.

Despite the bad press it gets for the financial ruin it caused the state of Rhode Island, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a fun game easily worth the change in your pocket. Dead Space joined Mass Effect 2 on our list of the best games of the previous generation, so if you haven't played it by now, you are out of excuses.

The rest are decent games that are nothing short of robbery at these prices. What happened? Did EA run a comb through its library to scoop out its fan-favorites for this list? I wonder how it chose these. All that's missing is Mirror's Edge and Dragon Age: Origins.

Keep an eye on this sale, but just remember that Black Friday is sure to see a lot more than this.
