Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, and Deadpool trailers full of violence.

Ah, Christmas time.

As promised a few weeks ago, a new Deadpool trailer arrived on Christmas day, but it turned out we got both green and red band versions of the trailer. The main difference being language and a bit of extra gore. You can see the green band version at the top of the post and the red band below.

Quite often people say someone was “born to play this part,” and in the case of Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool you have to believe that is the truth. I’m never going to be able to read a comic with this character in it without hearing Reynolds’ voice now, just as I can’t read Batman without hearing Kevin Conroy’s performance from Batman: The Animated Series. Some things just go together.

Beyond the humor and violence, it’s interesting to note there is a mention of the X-Men in this new trailer. While Colossus being involved pretty much cemented that, hearing the name drop just confirms without a doubt that this film does share the same universe. Only question now is where Deadpool shows up after his solo film.

Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
