Greed, Sloth, Gluttony, Pride, Lust, Envy and Wrath. The seven deadly sins of old have been around since Biblical days, and even to this day, there is no shortage of pop-culture references to them. Take Dead Rising 3 for example.
Capcom Vancouver has unveiled that each of the game’s psychopaths will be inspired by one of the original seven deadly sins. Taking on these survivors gone bonkers is totally optional, but then again, why would you want to miss out on them? They are scattered throughout Dead Rising 3‘s massive open world, waiting for protagonist Nick Ramos to come creeping a little too near and maybe even wishing for him to set them free.
Capcom Vancouver showed off the character based on Greed, a frightening doctor who keeps human fingers as a necklace. He is described as one of the darker psychopaths, and each of the psychos has seemed to cause concern for parental ratings agencies, a fact which Capcom seems to be rolling around in with glee.
“Even in our home country of Japan, they’re like ‘guys … guys … come on’,” claimed Executive Producer Josh Bridge, jokingly.
I’ve been warming up to Dead Rising 3 ever since its disastrous reveal at E3 this year. I’d like to see how each of the seven deadly sins are handled. It might be a little cliche at this point, but a thematic connection between all the optional bosses is striding into new realms for the series.
Dead Rising 3 will release exclusively for the Xbox One at the console’s launch.
