Surprise! With absolutely no notice, Bandai Namco has uploaded the Dark Souls III beta stress test to the PlayStation Store. You'll only be able to download it if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

Before you get too excited though, this app does not yet actually work. Downloaders are reporting that the network test is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and Bandai Namco has not announced any official plans or a schedule. If you download it now though, you can beat the rush and not have to download it when the actual test begins.

I had a short chance to go hands-on with Dark Souls III at Tokyo Game Show 2015, and it is definitely a step up from Dark Souls II. Just remember, when you download it though, this is meant to be a stress test for multiplayer purposes only. It will probably be riddled with bugs and won't run as properly as the final package.

That means no complaining, gamers!

Dark Souls III will launch in April 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
