Blizzard has finally published an animated short for one of Overwatch’s most popular leading ladies. D.Va, the esports superstar turned elite robot pilot, stars in “Shooting Star,” a video that sheds a light on her backstory and the MEKA, Mechanical Exo-Force of the Korean Army, organization she works for in her home city of Busan, Korea.
Plus, we get a look at her true ego, Hana, for the very first time. In private, she’s bit different from the flashy, popular superstar we’ve come to know and love over the years. Hard-working, dedicated to her craft, she proves in this video that she’s more than just glamour and lights.
(Pretty sweet, but I’m still a Mei fan)
“Shooting Star” accompanies the announcement of a new Busan map, which will be coming to the game in the near future. The map encompasses most of the areas and locales seen in the animated short and was created in tandem by the design team and the CG team.
