The Oppo N1, set to launch in December, won't be the only device running CyanogenMod out of the box in the foreseeable future. The software developer on Wednesday teased via its official Google+ page that it's partnering with another hardware company, though it didn't name who just yet. Speculation thus far has pointed toward OEMs such as Huawei, Xiamoi and Sony, though there's really no way of knowing for sure.
Cyanogen acknowledges that there are a lot of rumors circulating, and only went so far as to confirm it's working with a "new" hardware partner, with a full announcement set for the coming weeks. With so many OEMs to choose from, there are a lot of possibilities; even then, CyanogenMod has made its software much more accessible thanks to a recent installer in Google Play.
Which company do you want to see partner with Cyanogen?
Update: Via Android Police, the alleged anonymous company is an OEM we've never heard of. Sources close to Cyanogen's plans claim the company hasn't yet made its presence known, and wants to use Cyanogen as a jumping off point. Apparently, Cyanogen decided to move forward with another partner after Oppo VP Pete Lau resigned from the company earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the upcoming device will reportedly come equipped with a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AC chip, and will be a "normal size," rather than sporting a phablet form factor.
