Early this morning, EA took the wraps off of their highly anticipated Crytek developed shooter, Crysis 3, via press release.

Players will yet again take on the streets of New York City as Prophet in the year 2047. They'll be fighting to take back the city from the corrupt Cell Corporation after learning the motive behind building the quarantined Nanodomes. Prophet will be equipped with his enhanced Nanosuit and a plethora of alien technology to avenge the manipulated citizens and take down Cell Corporation.

Along with the announcement of the game, Crytek has also revealed that players will have the option to pick up the Hunter Edition of Crysis 3. This edition of the game will reward you with a load of multiplayer goodies. Players will gain early access to the new signature bow and its attachments, and access to the Hunter Nanosuit module which will give the player additional power and functionality for their super-suit.

Players who pre-order the game will also receive and XP boost starting them off at level 5 in the game's multiplayer.

Aside from the Hunter Edition of the game, select retailers will also be offering different bundle packs that give you unique features and unlocks with your purchase.

  • Stalker Pack – Includes the base game, all Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: for players who like to stalk their prey from the shadows the Stalker Pack provides early multiplayer access to the deadly semi-auto Jackal shotgun. This powerful, close-range shotgun comes with a unique silencer attachment, custom weapon skin and two exclusive themed in-game dog tags.
  • Overkill Pack – Includes the base game, all Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: the Overkill Pack features early multiplayer access to the Typhoon assault weapon and skin. Spewing 500 rounds a second, the Typhoon gives players the ability to go guns blazing to take back the Liberty Dome. Also included are two exclusive Overkill themed in-game dog tags.
  • Predator Pack – Includes the base game, all the Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: the Predator Pack delivers early multiplayer access to the Feline submachine gun and exclusive camo. With an extremely fast rate of fire and a 60 round magazine the Feline is highly effective and deadly, at short range.

These retailer promoted bundles seem to be a popular method of providing extra content, seeing that we saw a very similar incentive model announced with the release of Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs and almost every other major game released lately.

You can expect to get your hands on Crysis 3 in the Spring of 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
