Last year, Activision released Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It was a game that slid towards the better side of recent editions, but its reveal trailer was absolutely hammered by gamers sick of the mess.

It wound up being one of the most disliked videos in YouTube history.

To get more players to buy the game, Activision announced a remaster of everybody’s favorite: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The remaster, though, could only be purchased if you bought the $80 version of Infinite Warfare, a game not many seemed to want.

Well, hello, June of 2017. Activision has surprise dropped Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered as a standalone purchase on the PlayStation 4. No word on the Xbox One or PC versions just yet. It’s selling for $39.99, and it’s available in both physical and digital forms.

We have to wonder… does anyone even care anymore? Especially at $40 for the remaster?
