It’s a day that many thought would never happen, but Nintendo and Square Enix have proven themselves to be miracle workers, the likes of which have never before been seen in human history.

Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife is coming to Super Smash Bros. I mean… yeah. Seriously.

I was watching the Nintendo Direct presentation this evening, and Reggie said something about a new trailer. Super Smash Bros. was obvious from the introduction, but it was playing a familiar tune from a certain game in the background. I couldn’t quite set my brain on where I had heard it before, and you can’t blame me because who would ever put Final Fantasy VII and Super Smash Bros. in the same thought before today?

But just before the Final Fantasy VII logo reveal… snap! That’s Final Fantasy VII! WHOA! Now way!

Yes, Cloud Strife will be a Super Smash Bros. fighter on a yet unannounced date. He will be a DLC character and feature all of his moves from Final Fantasy VII. Sorry Shulk and all you Fire Emblem guys. You’ve been completely overshadowed on the JRPG front. Wow! What a day.
