The official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk has arrived, and it’s ready to get your heart racing.
Set to an oddly haunting score of a ticking clock, the new Dunkirk trailer shows off new scenes and the entire cast as they navigate the dangers of World War II. Dunkirk follows the story of a group of 400,000 Allied soldiers trying to get off the beaches of Dunkirk as they’ve been surrounded by the German army. Trying to find shelter on the beach and at sea, the incoming German planes heighten the tension of the trailer.
The trailer does a fantastic job of setting the tone of angst and helplessness the soldiers are feeling amid the gunfire and threat of drowning. It also shows off some of the stunning bleak and overcast cinematography that makes the scenes that much more engrossing. Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy headline the star-studded cast.
