The latest project from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is a Nazi zombie movie set just hours before D-Day. If you haven’t seen the first trailer, it begins like any stylized action movie, with a group of paratroopers dropping into Nazi-occupied France. But we soon find that things aren’t what they seem.
As we wait for the movie’s release, Paramount Pictures has released several new stills that are full of mystery and horror. Here’s the movie’s synopsis:
With only hours until D-Day, a team of American paratroopers drop into Nazi-occupied France to carry out a mission that’s crucial to the invasion’s success. Tasked with destroying a radio transmitter atop a fortified church, the desperate soldiers join forces with a young French villager to penetrate the walls and take down the tower. But, in a mysterious Nazi lab beneath the church, the outnumbered G.I.s come face-to-face with enemies unlike any the world has ever seen. From producer J.J. Abrams, Overlord is a thrilling, pulse-pounding action adventure with a twist.
We like what we’ve seen from Overlord so far, and we like that there’s still a lot of mystery behind the project. Hopefully, as we get closer to the movie’s release, the studio refrains from focusing on the monsters too much, because a lot of mystery will go a long way.
Overlord is set to hit theaters on November 9.
