As plenty of actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe can attest, keeping secrets isn’t always easy. Remember that time when Mark Ruffalo basically spoiled Avengers: Infinity War long before it hit theaters? Well, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson revealed how she keeps from accidentally revealing spoilers.
In an interview with USA Today, Larson revealed what her time has been like in the MCU. First of all, the logistics of her arrival is a little backwards, making it even more difficult for Larson to keep mum on how events will unfold.
“I just never wanted to feel like I was going to slip up or that I was going to say the wrong thing,” Larson told USA Today. “I was like, ‘I can’t live with myself being the one that spoils something.’ So I really just deleted it. I tried my best to journal it if I want to recall it and go, ‘Oh yeah, that was a crazy time.’”
Although Larson will make her big screen debut as Captain Marvel on March 8, she filmed her appearance in Avengers: Endgame first. As such, keeping her story straight has been tough. But she has a method to make sure she doesn’t let secrets slip: She has “erased” her memory—at least until these movies hit theaters.
Larson revealed that not even her family knows what’s going to happen in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, that’s how committed she is.
“I haven’t talked to anybody about anything because I’m just a very diligent secret-keeper,” Larson said.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, while Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
