Captain Marvel is the next MCU movie set for release when it flies into theaters this March. There are still some questions surrounding the movie, but its runtime is no longer one of them.
With tickets for the movie going on sale very soon, theater chains have updated information for Captain Marvel, including the runtime for the highly anticipated MCU movie. According to AMC Theaters, Captain Marvel’s runtime will come in at two hours and ten minutes.
Interestingly, some other theater chains state a time of two hours and eight minutes or nine minutes, but the difference is negligible. What is worth taking note of is that the movie won’t be an epic three-hour long saga. It’ll do its job in telling Captain Marvel’s story while connecting to the overarching MCU storyline.
Marvel tends to keep its non-Avengers movies around that two-hour and ten-minute timeframe. They always go over two hours but never by much so as to keep things from dragging on. Here’s a look at how long MCU movies have been over the past two years excluding Avengers: Infinity War. Captain Marvel’s runtime falls right in line.
- Ant-Man and the Wasp – 2 hours, 5 minutes
- Black Panther – 2 hours, 15 minutes
- Thor: Ragnarok – 2 hours, 10 minutes
- Spider-Man: Homecoming – 2 hours, 13 minutes
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – 2 hours, 18 minutes
Captain Marvel will arrive in theaters March 8.
