We already knew Martin Freeman was in Captain America: Civil War, and there were rumors about who he might play. Now, thanks to an Empire report, we have official confirmation as to how he’ll be involved when the film hits theaters in May.

As suspected, Empire says Freeman will play Everett Ross, a so-called expert on the nation of Wakanda. Wakanda just so happens to be the country Black Panther calls home, and the source of vibranium from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Ross’ diplomatic experience will likely play a part in the escalating tensions between Team Captain America and Team Iron Man as the Avengers team becomes divided.

The image above shows Ross standing next to Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), surrounded by a German SWAT team. We got a very brief glimpse of this scene in the Civil War trailer, which showed the equipment Captain America uses being confiscated.

Seeing as Ross has ties to Wakanda, and by extension Black Panther, he’ll likely return for the superhero’s solo film, which is currently scheduled for a July 6, 2018 release. In the meantime, you can see both characters in Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016.
