Just in time for the weekend and a couple days ahead of schedule, a trailer for this fall’s Call of Duty leaked, prompting Activision to upload the official version.
This year’s Call of Duty will be called Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and it’s set to release November 4, 2014.
The trailer, as hinted by the teaser site, focuses on Private Military Corporations. The game takes places in the future and the trailer is overflowing with technology like power armor, walking tanks, and cloaked helicopters. Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey has a starring role in the trailer and game as the head of one of those PMCs, presumably the one depicted attacking the Golden Gate bridge.
Once the trailer was leaked by Destructoid early Friday morning, Activision had the trailer online almost immediately. At the time of writing, the link to the official Advanced Warfare site at the end of the trailer leads to an error page. The countdown is still rolling, and presumably Activision has a few more details ready to go come Sunday morning.
