Brace yourselves; it looks like Activision might release another Call of Duty this year. This leak has been making the rounds today on gaming sites around the net, so we’ve decided to share it with you.
First, UK retailer Tesco listed Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with the box art you see above. They dated the games for 12/30/13, which was more than likely a placeholder date.
Then, this advert was leaked from Target. Note that the release date there is November 5th, 2013.
Personally, I think the name change was brought on because of a potentially awkward alternative. If Infinity Ward stuck with Modern Warfare for this game, it would have been Modern Warfare 4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a game from 2007, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 would be the new one. A bit too confusing, from my stance.
Big surprise, we’re getting a new Call of Duty this year. This name and box art news stands as a rumor until otherwise confirmed. I’m staying away from buying any more Call of Duty games, but how about you folks?
