Buffalo Gear CES Edition – Sean Aune's Bag

Of the entire team, I tend to over pack. They are quite fond of pointing out how my computer bag usually looks like it's about to burst at the seams. But when push comes to shove and I have that spare cable or memory card they need, they seem to get all quiet about it.

17-Inch MacBook Pro

Yes, I am one of those people that likes carrying around a gigantic laptop. I picked this one up in the last generation 17-inches was an option, and I now plan on using it until the last possible moment as Apple seems to have no interest in continuing with mobile computers in this size.

It's not just about the physical size, though. I love the power and capabilities it gives me, which factors in to why I am also carrying …

13-Inch MacBook Air

When TechnoBuffalo is at CES, we have a ton of video to render and produce. Sometimes Jon Quach – our guru of of all things graphic and video – needs another computer while another one is busy. It's then I hand over my 17-inch MacBook Pro to him, and I switch to the 13-inch MacBook Air to continue my writing and assigning. I don't normally carry two laptops, but during CES it's essential.

Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0

Apple makes fine track pads, but some times you just want a bit more precise control, so I still like using a full-size mouse whenever I can. Ive gone through a ton of mice over the years, but this is by far my favorite.

iPad (third generation)

Those that listen to Tech on the Range know I am a big believer in tablets. While I love my laptops, they aren't always practical when you're moving around crowded trade show aisles. For when I'm out on the floor I want to be mobile, and the iPad allows me that freedom. No, I can't do all of the same things I can do on a computer, but it provides me the ability to edit, write skeletons of posts and so on.

Nexus 7

Why carry a second tablet? I like to have the versatility of both Android and iOS. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, and the Nexus 7 is small enough to not add to much to my weight moving around.

iPhone 5 (Sprint)Samsung Galaxy Note (AT&T)

Our phones are the quickest way for the team to communicate, so the majority of us carry more than one. The reason is it gives us the ability to always have a charged battery, and if one network is giving us a bad reception, we can switch to the other.

Sanyo VPC-FH1 HD

Unlike a lot of the rest of the crew, I'm not really a video producer. My video camera is no where as fancy as the usual ones we use, but it does in a punch if I find myself in a situation where we only have one shot at getting something filmed and none of the rest of the team is available.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20

I'm a huge fan of the Panasonic Lumix series. Sadly my last one went missing recently – a ZS7 – and I picked up the ZS20 to replace it. I've only had it about a month, but I'm already in love with it.

Steno Pad

Like Aaron, I like to write things down. While he's using a legal pad, I prefer a smaller steno pad. My fondness for the notebooks has become a bit of a joke in the company as Jon Rettinger has been known to say, "I don't remember, but I'm sure it's in Sean's pad." Sadly, it probably is. When I finish them, I file them.

Hand Wash

I believe in keeping my hands clean, and after touring a booth and touching gadgets 15 other people have touched in the last 20 seconds, hand wash is a must.

Bottle of Water

It's rare to see me without some form of liquid close by, and while at CES it's usually water… because the lines for Starbucks are awe inspiring.

Bose QC 15 Headphones

These are primarily for the flights. I very rarely get to watch movies with my work schedule, so I save them up for flights. Next up, Brave.
