MacBook Pro (2010)
I’ll be using the MacBook Pro primarily for video editing… and Starcraft after work is done.
CoolerMaster QuickFire Rapid (Cherry MX Black)
Like Todd, I’m gonna be rockin’ out on a mechanical loaded board in Vegas. This sucker is a customized QuickFire Rapid board, loaded with engraved PBT plastic key caps for that ultra smooth click-clank feel. I’ve also swapped out the default grey rubberized case for a black shell found on CoolerMaster’s Cherry MX Red model – another board that I proudly own.
Samsung Galaxy S II + iPhone 4S
iPhone 4S is my primary phone (unlocked), but I might not be able to use it depending on what SIM card I can get my hands on. T-Mobile Galaxy SII will act as my back-up phone.
Logitech G400 Mouse
Probably the most important piece of gear I’m bringing (beside’s my computer of course). G400’s precision coupled with custom mice settings is key to grinding out 15+ videos a day for CES.
Audio-Technica MTH-50s Headphones
One of the best headphones you can pick up for around the $150 price range. Praised by many audiophiles and musicians for having crystal clear sound with a tremendous amount of warmth and body. Very important for making sure the audio for videos sound great while editing within the noisy CES environment.
Custom DIY Headset Mic
After trying out a pair of SteelSeries Siberia V2’s, I knew I had to have some sort of headset system with my headphones. After failing to find a cheap and viable solution, I ended up making my own using a Zalman Mic, a few magnets, some electrical tape, and a piece of wire. It’s basically a poor-DIY version of the AntLion mic system.
SoundBlaster Recon 3D USB Soundcard
Helps to improve, better isolate and improve audio quality. Due to lack of a 3.5 microphone input jack on Apple computers, this soundcard is needed for my headset mic to work
OWC Elite Pro Mercury 2TB External Hard Drive
iPad 3rd GenRecently upgraded from a Western Digital MyBook Studio to this guy just for CES 2013 (really!). Pretty pricey, but I think it’s worth it. It’s built like a tank, and with USB 3.0 on board, this hard drive will be future proof. It’s where I keep all my resource and media files for design and video editing.
Mainly using it for the plane ride as it’s battery life trumps that of the iPhone and Macbook Pro.
