The future of public transportation will look very strange if Tesla CEO Elon Musk has his way. His new company, Boring, unveiled images of concept vehicles that may be used to shuttle people around in underground tunnels—and they look like glass tissue boxes, or weird futuristic shoes.

These vehicles are anticipated to shuttle multiple passengers at once—the images shared show roughly ten people sitting in the minibus-like enclosures. We first saw these concept vehicles in action in a video shared by Boring.

The vehicles aren’t the only way to travel using Boring’s underground tunnels. Users can also drive their vehicles onto a car elevator, which would then transport people underground into Boring’s complex tunnel system. Using sleds, cars could travel around a city like Los Angeles without experiencing any traffic.

Here’s what Boring says about its proposed system, which would help eliminate “soul-destroying traffic.”

“Roads must go 3D, which means either flying cars or tunnels,” Boring says on its website. “Unlike flying cars, tunnels are weatherproof, out of sight and won’t fall on your head. A large network of road tunnels many levels deep would fix congestion in any city, no matter how large it grew (just keep adding levels).”

According to Boring, these tunnels would be fast and cheap to build.

“Low cost tunnels would also make Hyperloop adoption viable and enable rapid transit densely populated regions, enabling travel from New York to Washington DC in less than 30 minutes,” according to Boring.
