After weeks of teasing, Gearbox has finally unveiled Borderlands 3, and it's everything we hoped for and more. Studio CEO Randy Pitchford took to the stage at PAX East 2019, and after a brief, painful period of magic tricks and technical difficulties, we got our first good look at its trailer.
New and old characters collide in what is sure to be our most perilous adventure yet on Pandora—or even more worlds, if the trailer is to be taken literally. We get glimpses of our favorite Vault Hunters like Brick, Mordecai, Maya, and Lilith along with some fan-favorite characters like Tiny Tina all grown up and Rhys from Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands series. We didn't get names for any of the baddies yet, but we did get to see them walk menacingly with a pack of bandits behind them.
This trailer wasn't as meme-heavy as some of the previous ones, but it certainly contained Borderlands' signature style of humor throughout. It has guns with robotic legs! A billion guns! Brick performed a sax solo!
A release date was unfortunately not revealed at this time, but Gearbox did promise more information about Borderlands 3 will be revealed on April 3, 2019. Which is coincidentally the same date that Borderlands Remastered is releasing for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
