We’d hate to sound so cliché but it looks like Boost Mobile is about to get another Boost. The Sprint powered MVNO is already slated to enter the realm of 4G later this month and we can now add visual voicemail to the prepaid carrier’s no so distant future. Earlier today, Smith Micro announced that it will be partnering with Boost Mobile to bring its visual voicemail services the carrier starting with HTC’s EVO Design 4G on May 31st. Boost customers will also have the option of adding Smith Micro’s ‘Voicemail-to-Text,” which transcribes voice messages to nifty text messages for an additional $1.99 per month.

Boost Mobile customers with the HTC EVO Design will have access to Visual Voicemail, and the optional Visual Voicemail-to-Text transcription service for $1.99 per month, with the launch of HTC EVO Design 4G on May 31.
“Using our Visual Voicemail platform, Boost Mobile can offer their subscribers a more convenient, flexible way to manage their voicemail inbox that saves time and facilitates message sharing with features like email forwarding and Voice SMS,” said Jim Mains, Senior Vice President of Global Products and Programs, Smith Micro Software. “Through the convenient in-app purchase of Voicemail-to-Text transcription, Smith Micro helps turn voicemail from a cost center into a revenue generator.”
The Visual Voicemail solution is a component of Smith Micro’s Mobile Experience Platform that helps mobile operators, device manufacturers and enterprises simplify and enhance the mobile experience while optimizing network and device resources.
