Boingo announced on Tuesday that customers can now use an iTunes account to purchase a subscription to its Wi-Fi hotspot service. The company currently offers more than 600,000 hotspots around the globe, and users simply need to download the company's Wi-Finder application for iOS to get started. Once the app is open, customers can choose to purchase a subscription with their iTunes ID and password.
"iOS device owners already use their iTunes account to buy apps, music and other products on their phone or tablet; we're adding that level of simplicity to the process of buying Wi-Fi," Boingo senior vice president of marketing and sales Dawn Callahan said. A subscription through iTunes will cost $7.99 per month and the app provides free a free VPN for protecting private data.
If you're not already a subscriber, we recommend getting started by instead visiting Boingo's website, as the company is currently offering a deal that will allow you to pay $4.98 per month for the first three months of service. The full subscription, which allows you to access Boingo's Wi-Fi networks from any mobile device, typically costs $9.95 per month.
